About Matt Hubing

I’m a UX designer & developer in Dallas, Texas and this is my website.

My History

My interest in the web design started in 2001 when a friend introduced me to the Web Standards movement. I developed a passion for web design by voraciously reading the best web design blogs and reverse-engineering others’ code examples.

Matt Hubing

In 2006 I graduated from Valparaiso University with a degree in graphic design and a minor in new media journalism. I have the experience of working at a small advertising agency, an in-house web design team, a marketing team for a financial services company, as well as experience as a freelance designer.

Other Interests

Video games have been a part of my life since I was five. Video games provide excellent examples of interface design and the importance of the user experience. Some of my favorite games are Half-Life, Fallout, Operation Flashpoint, GoldenEye 007, and Lucasarts adventures games.

About Hubing Design

Hubing Design functions as my portfolio and is progressively enhanced as I master new design and development techniques. This version uses a fluid grid and employs responsive web design techniques based off of the 1140px CSS Grid System by Andy Taylor. This means it will scale appropriately to different screen sizes and devices. Try resizing the browser window or viewing this website on different devices.

I test this website on Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer 7+. Validate the code (HTML5, CSS3) if you’re into that kinda stuff.

This website was hand-coded using a mix of Coda on my Macbook and Dreamweaver on my Windows laptop. Graphics were produced with Photoshop. Major props go to the makers of Firebug and the Web Developer Toolbar.
